The IRS is extremely excited to offer the VITA Grant opportunity to our partners for a second year. The 2010 application open season will launch on Monday, June 1, 2009 and will close on July 17, 2009.

On June 2, 2009, the IRS Grant Program Office (GPO) will host two conference calls to discuss the 2009 VITA Grant Program results, changes for 2010 and address your questions/concerns. Listed below are the participant call-in times, conference call number and participant code.

Microsoft Live Meeting Instructions - 10:00 am – noon session - 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm session
We anticipate a large number of callers and there are only 200 phone ports available for each call. Each organization/partner is encouraged to share a connection. Also, during the call, you will be able to access this PowerPoint presentation using Microsoft Live Meeting. Attached is a document containing the instructions for using Live Meeting to view the presentation on-line to go along with the audio portion of the conference. Two pages are provided for the different sessions because the meeting ID is different. Please only attend one of the meetings and be sure to test your system well in advance of the conference. The presentations will begin at the times indicated and will not be delayed to resolve any technical difficulties with using Live Meeting. Meeting participants can always follow along in the Power Point presentation provided with this message in lieu of using Live Meeting. Please refer to the attached instructions.
Publication 4671, VITA Grant Program Overview and Application Package has been revised based on both internal and external feedback. This publication provides a comprehensive overview of the VITA program, as well as details about the VITA Grant application process. Please take time prior to the call to review the revised Publication 4671 and other VITA Grant Program information that is available on IRS.gov.
As a courtesy, Publication 4671 will be mailed to all 2009 VITA Grant applicant organizations that applied to the program last year. Others may secure a copy via Grants.gov (keyword search - VITA) and IRS.gov (keyword search - VITA Grant). In addition, this presentation will be posted to irs.gov (keyword search- VITA Grant) for your reference.
